The Global EbA Fund has moved its application process online!

The Global EbA Fund has launched its first pilot application programme that is entirely online. All applications under the 6th cohort with the cut-off date set for 15 September 2023 will be submitted through this platform. This process applies to both general and thematic funding tracks. Application documents remain the same as before and are structured into three sections in the online platform.

We strongly advise you to prepare your application offline ahead of time and transfer your information onto the portal when your application is ready. Register and explore the online platform here.

Thematic Track for 6th Cohort

Following the introduction of general and thematic funding tracks in 2023, we are happy to announce the thematic track for the 6th cohort: Indigenous and Traditional Knowledge in Ecosystem-based Adaptation.

The Fund is accepting applications for its 6th cohort under general and thematic tracks by  15 September 2023. The application process is the same for both tracks. Applicants are invited to indicate the track relevant to their proposal in their application.

We strongly encourage all applicants to go through Grants Procedures Manual before applying and consult specific considerations for the thematic track here.

We thank all the applicants that submitted their proposals by the 28 April 2023 cut-off date. The next cut-off date for the 6th cohort is 15 September 2023.

The next thematic track will be announced shortly. We encourage you to start developing your EbA proposal! Please consult the What We Fund page to see if your project concept meets all grant selection criteria and eligibility requirements.

The fifth application cut-off of 28 April 2023 has passed. Project proposals which were received in full with supporting documents by 28 April 2023 at 23:59 UTC+2 (Swiss time) will be considered for the fifth Global EbA Fund funding decision. The next cut-off date and a new thematic track will be announced shortly.

The Global EbA Fund is excited to announce that it has invited a number of organisations to submit a Full Proposal Stage Application as part of the fourth cut-off (deadline 22 July 2022). We appreciate the more than 200 applicants who submitted concept notes for this round. The Global EbA Fund is still accepting submissions for the fifth cut-off until 28 April 2023 at 23:59 UTC+2. Global EbA Fund announces 2nd cohort

The Global EbA Fund is pleased to announce the selection of the second cohort of 16 grantees.  

The Fund received an overwhelming number of applications for the cut-off date of 15 September 2021, with more than 620 proposals submitted. Following an extensive review process, 16 grants have been approved for the total amount of US$3,922,949. More details are available under Grantees

We are pleased to announce that a number of organisations have been invited to submit a Full Proposal Stage Application, as part of the third Global EbA Fund cut-off (deadline 28 February 2022). Thank you to the 290+ applicants who submitted a concept note for this deadline. The Fund is no longer accepting applications for 2022. Please check back for 2023 deadlines and updated application documents.

The third application cut-off of 28 February 2022 has passed. Concept notes which were received in full with supporting documents by 28 February 2022 at 23:59 UTC+2 (Geneva time) will be considered for the third Global EbA Fund funding decision. The Fund accepts concept note submissions year-round, and the next biannual funding decision submission deadline is 15 July 2022 at 23:59 UTC+2 (Geneva time).

Please note the updated submission process which includes email submission of a completed concept note stage application packet and completion of the online submission form.

16 November 2021

More than 620 proposals were submitted for the second Global EbA Fund application cut-off, of 15 September 2021.

As of 16 November 2021, the review of applications received by the 15 September 2021 cut-off (i.e., second cohort) is currently on-going. Due to the high volume of submissions received, feedback on individual concept notes will not be provided. Successful applicants will be contacted directly.

The 15 September 2021 cut-off date has passed. The next application cut-off is 28 February 2022 at 23:59 UTC+2 (Geneva time).

2 August 2021

We are pleased to announce that a number of organisations have been invited to submit a Full Proposal Stage Application. Thank you to the 275+ applicants who submitted a proposal for the inaugural application cut-off, of 30 April 2021.

Due to the high volume of submissions received, we are unable to provide feedback on unsuccessful proposals at this time. If you have not been contacted, we encourage applicants to reapply and review the eligibility and selection criteria for future consideration. Future applications should be submitted using the most up-to-date Concept Stage Application Packet.
