Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) harnesses the power of nature to increase the resilience of communities against the escalating impacts of climate change. By providing rapid and targeted financial support to innovative and catalytic projects, the Global EbA Fund addresses specific gaps in policy and technical knowledge to maximise the impact of this vital nature-based solution on a global scale. The Global EbA Fund is led by IUCN and UNEP.
The coordination of the Global EbA Fund is part of the International Climate Initiative (IKI). The German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) supports this initiative on the basis of a decision adopted by the German Bundestag.
The Global EbA Fund accepts and reviews Concept Stage Application Packet submissions year-round and makes biannual funding decisions. The next cut-off date is 28 February, 2022 at 23:59 UTC+2 (Geneva time). Applications received after the cut-off dates will be considered for the next round.
