Construyendo una comunidad de práctica de EbA: Vinculando a los beneficiarios del Fondo Global EbA con FEBA.

Global EbA Fund Webinar │ 29 April 2026 │ Virtual Event
Across the Global EbA Fund’s portfolio of 65 projects, grantees have consistently highlighted a shared priority: strengthening connections with one another to exchange knowledge, raise the visibility of their work, and explore opportunities for joint initiatives.
This is precisely the kind of connection that the Amigos de la Adaptación Basada en Ecosistemas (FEBA) network is designed to foster. While the Global EbA Fund focuses on supporting catalytic and innovative projects on the ground and within specific themes to address gaps in EbA uptake and scaling, FEBA advances EbA globally by connecting practitioners, researchers, and policymakers around shared learning and policy engagement. Together, these complementary work approaches create a clear opportunity to link the practical experience of grantees with an established global network, strengthening collective knowledge, accelerating uptake and replication, and advancing robust and scalable Nature-based Solutions for climate adaptation.
As a network of over 100 organisations, FEBA offers a platform for collaboration, with its thematic working groups serving as a key entry point. These groups bring members together to co-develop knowledge products, exchange technical expertise, and contribute to global policy discussions – offering a practical pathway for grantees to engage in an active community of practice.
To explore this potential, the Fund and FEBA convened a virtual session, “Exploring Collaboration Opportunities with the FEBA Network,” bringing together grantees from across regions and ecosystems. Fifty participants joined the session, representing 39 organisations and 36 projects. Pre-session survey results highlighted that the majority of participants (52%) were unfamiliar with FEBA and had no prior experience (86%) with the network, pointing to significant untapped potential for collaboration.
Designed as an interactive exchange, the session introduced FEBA’s role, working groups, and potential areas of collaboration, followed by an interactive session that invited participants to help shape the direction of future engagement.
The interactions revealed four key areas of interest among grantees.
- Grantees bring hands-on expertise in community engagement and EbA implementation.
- Many are keen to strengthen capacity in areas such as climate finance and impact measurement – important enablers for scaling EbA implementation and sustaining impact.
- Participants expressed interest in building partnerships, co-developing knowledge products, and engaging in peer learning.
- Increasing the visibility of grantees’ work was another priority that emerged, including through global events and case studies that connect local experience to broader policy and knowledge processes.
These insights are now shaping the next phase: the launch of the FEBA-Fund Collaboration Series.
Designed as a participatory process, the series will bring together Global EbA Fund grantees and FEBA members through targeted technical sessions, networking, and policy engagement opportunities. The focus will be on practical value, with sessions designed to be relevant and directly applicable to grantees’ work.
Beyond the lifecycle of individual projects, practitioners and organisations remain part of a broader EbA network. Strengthening these connections is essential to building a more cohesive community of practice – one that can better align efforts and amplify collective impact.
Collaboration between Global EbA Fund grantees and FEBA members is a step in this direction: bringing together complementary strengths to move beyond individual projects toward a more connected EbA community.
