Dear
Global
EbA
Fund
Community,
As
2025
draws
to
a
close,
the
Global
EbA
Fund
is
proud
to
highlight
a
year
of
momentum,
innovation,
and
impact
in
Ecosystem-based
Adaptation
(EbA).
From
June’s
11th
EbA
Knowledge
Day
in
Bonn
to
our
sessions
at
the
IUCN
World
Conservation
Congress
in
Abu
Dhabi,
we
reinforced
that
scaling
EbA
requires
aligning
finance,
policy,
and
locally
led
action—demonstrating
tangible
social,
ecological,
and
economic
benefits.
Our
COP30
engagements
in
Belém,
including
showcasing
the
NBCities
project
implemented
by
ICLEI
in
the
city
of
Belém,
affirmed
that
community-led
adaptation
is
already
transforming
lives
and
landscapes
worldwide.
Financing
EbA
remains
a
key
challenge,
yet
our
latest
blog
shows
how
targeted,
inclusive
investment—through
community
projects,
blended
finance,
and
insurance
mechanisms—can
unlock
funding,
advance
equity,
and
deliver
climate-resilient
outcomes.
Alongside
this,
our
joint
work
with
other
projects
such
as
in
the
Nature,
Climate
and
Gender
Symposium
reinforced
that
effective
climate
solutions
must
centre
justice,
Indigenous
leadership,
and
gender
equality,
bridging
local
action
with
systemic
change.
Our
grantees
have
also
made
remarkable
strides
this
year
and
we
have
closed
a
number
of
projects
showcasing
impact
across
communities,
countries
and
continents.
As
we
celebrate
these
achievements,
we
would
like
to
introduce
the
IUCN
team
at
the
Global
EbA
Fund—and
its
recent
new
additions.
From
all
of
us,
we
wish
you
a
joyous
holiday
season
and
a
2026
filled
with
resilience,
collaboration,
and
transformative
climate
action.
