Privacy Policy
The International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), acting as the secretariat for the Global EbA Fund, are committed to respecting your privacy in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data. I declare:
- I hereby authorise the treatment of my personal data (country and type of institution) under the “Support for the Implementation and Upscaling of Ecosystem-based Adaptation” Project, for reporting purposes;
- The data collected will be used for reporting purposes under the “Support for the Implementation and Upscaling of Ecosystem-based Adaptation” Project and access will be granted to the project coordination team;
- The data collected will be stored for up to 10 years.
The Global EbA Fund follows the IUCN Privacy Policy.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it
In certain circumstances, you give us information such as when you create an account on IUCN systems, fill forms on IUCN sites, subscribe for IUCN newsletters, register for events, visit IUCN premises, correspond with us by phone or email or otherwise. The information you give us may include your designation, name(s), gender, physical address, email address, telephone number, mobile number, date of birth, nationality, country of residence, personal description, biography, photograph, ID or passport information, language preference, job title, position, organisation, type of organisation, areas of expertise, role, emergency contact information, name and contact information of accompanying person(s), payment details, bank account details, credit card information or information relating to your work experience and job application details.
We automatically collect the following information from your visits to IUCN sites:
- technical information, including the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer or mobile device to the Internet, online identifiers, your login information, browser type and version, time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform; and
- information about your visit, including the full Uniform Resource Locators (URL), clickstream to, through and from IUCN sites (including date and time).
In other circumstances you provide us with your personal information such as your names, address, email address, telephone and mobile number etc., when you apply for a Job, apply to become a Council or Commission Member, are invited to be an Event speaker or are a nominated candidate. As a potential IUCN Member applicant, you also provide us with the personal information of your representative(s).
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Contact forms
If you fill in a contact form on this website, your personal data is captured and will be kept indefinitely. This information will not be used for marketing purposes.
