How to Apply

Overview

In 2023 the Global EbA Fund has introduced two funding tracks: general EbA project proposals track and a thematic proposals track. The Global EbA Fund accepts and reviews submissions under the General EbA project proposals track year-round and makes biannual funding decisions. The next cut-off date is 28 April 2023 at 23:59 UTC+2 (Swiss time). Applications received after the cut-off dates will be considered for the next round

If you are applying under a Thematic EbA project proposals track, all submissions must be received by the cut-off date of 28 April 2023 at 23:59 UTC+2 (Swiss time).

Please consult What We Fund to see if your project concept will meet all grant selection criteria and eligibility requirements. All application documents and templates are available below.

Application Documents

In 2023 the Global EbA Fund shifted to a 1-stage application process and has updated the Grants Procedures Manual and project proposal templates. Please refer to the application checklist below. Old project proposal templates will not be accepted.

Applications must be submitted in English. Official documents of the organisation and register entries must be translated into English.

All application documents must be submitted via email to Submit.EbAFund@iucn.org. Applicants must also fill out the submission form.

Consult What We Fund and the Grant Procedures Manual to see if your project proposal meets all grant-selection criteria and eligibility requirements. Follow the guidelines carefully when developing and drafting a proposal.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to undertake the EbA E-Learning Course prior to developing a project proposal. It is a self-paced online course that equips learners with transferable and replicable skills in designing and implementing EbA initiatives by offering targeted training on key principles, risk assessments, monitoring, and governance.

Core Indicator Framework

The Core Indicator Framework was developed with the goal of supporting the monitoring and communication of the grantees’ project outcomes. This reporting mechanism enables the Fund to show accountability to stakeholders, share joint achievements with the public, and assess and improve future allocation strategies.

Applicants must identify at least three relevant indicators from the Core Indicator Framework and incorporate them into the individual project’s logical framework.
